Episode 19 - What it takes to get out of 'Survival Mode'

Episode 19 - What it takes to get out of survival mode

In this episode, I talk about ‘survival mode’ and how to get out of it. I share my personal experience as a solo mom and the constant responsibility and pressure she faced. Survival mode is characterized by constant activation and the inability to relax or feel safe. I emphasise the importance of noticing, acknowledging, and allowing the feelings associated with survival mode and suggests techniques such as humming, movement, and exploring patterns to help move the energy through the body.

I also highlights the need to work with a therapist or somatic practitioner to go deeper into these patterns. Moving out of survival mode is a process of building capacity and relating to one's experience in a different way, regardless of external circumstances.
