Meet the Woman You're Becoming
Aug 17, 2026
Close your eyes for just a moment.
Imagine it's three years from now.
Your children are laughing in the next room.
Your shoulders aren't carrying quite so much tension anymore.
You smile more often.
You trust yourself.
You no longer second-guess every decision.
Life still has challenges—because life always will—but they no longer define you.
Instead of simply getting through each day, you've created a life that feels intentional.
Now imagine she walks into the room.
The future version of you.
She sits beside you with a warm cup of coffee and smiles.
Not because she's perfect.
But because she's proud.
Proud that you kept going.
Proud that you believed there could be more than survival.
Proud that you didn't let fear write the ending of your story.
What do you think she'd say?
I imagine she'd begin with something simple.
"Thank you."
Becoming Happens Before Achieving
We often focus on the things we want.
The house.
The relationship.
The holiday.
The business.
Financial security.
Confidence.
Peace.
But here's something I've come to believe.
The life we want is usually created by the woman we become.
Not the other way around.
Confidence isn't something we suddenly wake up with one morning.
It's built every time we keep a promise to ourselves.
Peace isn't found after life becomes perfect.
It's created through the choices we make every day.
Courage doesn't arrive before action.
It grows because of action.
The Story You're Living
Many of us unknowingly carry stories that were never ours to begin with.
"I'm not good enough."
"I'm too old."
"I'm just a single mum."
"I'll never have enough money."
"I'm always going to struggle."
The challenge with these stories is that we stop questioning them.
We begin living as though they're facts.
But what if they're simply old chapters?
What if they helped explain where you've been...
without determining where you're going?
Borrowing Wisdom From Your Future Self
Whenever I feel uncertain, I like to imagine my future self sitting beside me.
Not because she has magical answers.
But because she has perspective.
She reminds me that today's challenges won't last forever.
She reminds me that every small step matters.
She reminds me that growth is rarely dramatic.
It's often wonderfully ordinary.
One conversation.
One boundary.
One application.
One walk.
One decision to believe in yourself again.
Becoming Is Built In Small Choices
We sometimes think becoming a new version of ourselves requires huge transformation.
But perhaps it looks more like this.
The woman you're becoming...
Speaks kindly to herself.
Asks for help when she needs it.
Laughs without feeling guilty.
Allows herself to rest.
Believes she deserves good things.
Keeps learning.
Keeps growing.
Keeps dreaming.
She isn't extraordinary because life became easy.
She's extraordinary because she chose to keep becoming herself.
Your Children Are Watching
One day your children will tell stories about you.
Not about the laundry.
Not about whether every meal was homemade.
They'll remember how you made them feel.
Whether you laughed.
Whether you hugged them.
Whether they saw you keep trying.
Whether they watched you believe in yourself.
Imagine the legacy that creates.
Not perfection.
Possibility.
A Letter From Your Future Self
Before you finish reading today, I'd love to invite you to imagine one final thing.
Imagine your future self writing you a letter.
Perhaps she'd write:
"I know this season feels heavy.
I know you're tired.
I know you're wondering whether all of this effort is worth it.
Please don't stop.
The life you're hoping for is being built by the choices you're making today.
One day you'll look back and realise these small moments changed everything.
Keep going.
I'm so proud of you.
Love,
The woman you're becoming."
Reflection
Today, don't ask,
"What do I need to achieve?"
Instead ask,
"What would the woman I'm becoming choose today?"
Perhaps that one question will begin changing everything.
